Amyris Inc.,
announced today the first commercial shipment of
renewable farnesene to be used in a wide range of
specialty chemicals and
fuel applications
from its new plant in Brotas, Sao Paulo, Brazil.
Amyris' farnesene plant souces its
sugarcane feedstock locally from the Paraiso mill.
Prior to the start up of this facility,
Amyris relied solely on contract manufacturing
for commercial production.

About Amyris' initial shipment
- The initial shipment marks the successful completion of
start-up activities.
- Amyris has operated multiple tanks without
contamination or surprise through several production runs
during the first month of operation.
- Amyris is now focused on ramping up
renewable farnesene production and
delivering products to customers for
* renewable diesel (SUGARCANE DIESEL)
for bus fleets in Brazil,
* squalene emollient globally and
* a range of specialty chemical applications
